I think monsters in the films do reflect what people fear in reality. However, some suggestions I got from classmates said they are interested to see me create monster that has unique meaning just to me.
Some creative storytelling precedents I got from classmates and teachers are: Gorogoa, a puzzle game with four picture in the screen. Players tap and arrange the image to develop the storyline; Meshes of the Afternoon, a short experimental film directed by Maya Deren, which presents an ongoing series of uncertain images.
Look into Japanese monster culture.
Last but not least, look into the tradition on catharsis, and its theory.
I think later on I should decide: what is the tone of my project? Is it cute monster adventure story or a horror film? What media should I use? Should i focus on my own imagination or incorporate more social issues and traditions?
